Instead of creating designs that were a physical representation of my past, present and future creations, I wanted to create florals that represented where I was and how I see my future.

1. Please explain your concept/thoughts behind your ‘past’ design installation:

Blossom Cloud

My past design is a whimsical blossom cloud which represents the dream I had of leaving my day job and becoming a florist.
My business name ‘Rose Tinted’ came about because I see the world through a rose-tinted lens. Everything is erring on the side of positive. I took that positive energy, taking my dream and making it into a floral reality.

2. Please explain your concept/thoughts behind your ‘present’ design installation:

Vase Arrangement

Contemporary chaos. I’m often moving in many different directions at once, while trying to retain some structure in my world.

3. Please explain your concept/thoughts behind your ‘future’ design installation:

Garden

There are 3 storylines/directions in my floral future.
The one you can’t see is the sustainability. Instead of using floral foam, I used sphagnum moss. The large structure was created using dried flora and wire instead of foam or plastic.
It’s really important for me as a creative to be challenged by these industry changes and embrace the change which benefits the world we live in. Overall the design represents something that has grown from something very small.
Within the setting there are smaller gardens which represent the next stage of my career which will hopefully continue to grow and inspire me and the people around me.
